Coincidentally, the McDuffie riots in Miami hit the 40 year mark last month, and here we are today still fighting for our lives.

We are living a form of Black suffocation in America.

I can’t breathe not only relates to your physical well-being, but it relates to:

• • I can’t breathe because of a lack of health care.
  • I can’t breathe because of a lack of employment or underemployment to take care of my family.
  • I can’t breathe because I can’t afford to buy a house for my family.
  • I can’t breathe because I fear for my kids, especially my son each time he walks out the front door.
